Social Commitment
Alongside economic and ecological factors, social responsibility plays an important role at AUGUSTA and is likewise seen by us as part of sustainable corporate development. Based on our corporate culture and our aim of being leading, open minded, entrepreneurial and reliable, we also behave in a responsible manner both within and outside the company. AUGUSTA thus supports selected projects of social relevance that are not directly connected with our business activities.
Projects of social relevance to which we offer regular support include:
Hilfe für Kids
Hilfe für Kids is a donation project run by the "Kreisjugendring München-Stadt" (KJR) (Munich City District Youth Association). The project was launched in 1998 to support socially disadvantaged children and young people affected by poverty. Even in Munich, around 21,000 children and young people now live in households in which very little money is available (source: Poverty Report 2007 for the City of Munich). Hilfe für Kids supports children and young people who attend one of the 49 recreational centers for children and young people or one of the KJR's 6 nurseries or who are members of one of the 70 Munich youth clubs forming part of the KJR.
Hilfe für Kids offers the affected children and young people lunch and help with homework, as well as health and educational offers and trips and outings.
All donations are used entirely to support disadvantaged children and young people. Costs for administration and publicity work are borne by the KJR.

Horizont e.V.
Great misfortune and terrible circumstances frequently lead to mothers suddenly ending up on the streets with their children. Situations like this leave behind deep scars and make it difficult for lots of girls and boys to gain a foothold in our society.
HORIZONT e.V. has thus created a place where homeless children can come with their mothers to find some peace. In Munich's HORIZONT home, which was built in 2004, 24 small families can enjoy a temporary shelter. Here they get personal care and qualified support from a socio-educational expert team, which enables them to get their lives back together again.
The charitable association, which was founded by actress Jutta Speidel in 1997, is financed exclusively through donations.

Music for Goals
Music for Goals is an annual concert event that creatively expresses opposition to everyday racism, xenophobia and anti-Semitism in society. The event regards itself as a strong sign for a colorful variety of people all having equal rights. The international musicians from various cultures are committed to a society where the respect for and dignity of each individual is observed, lived out and protected.
Music for Goals was created in order to bring people together, awaken curiosity for other cultures and promote understanding for people from other regions and social classes. Learning to accept those who are different, showing an honest understanding for them and encountering them in friendship - that is the aim of Music for Goals.
Regardless of whether in soccer or in music - Music for Goals stands for integration, getting along together and creativity! The AUGUSTA Group identifies with the principles of this project and is supporting the event financially and through its participation on the evening of the event.

Krebskranke Kinder München e.V.
The parents' initiative Krebskranke Kinder München e.V. was founded in 1985 by mothers and fathers of children suffering from cancer. The aim of this network was to improve the lives of the affected children and their families, through a variety of measures, and to support them in extremely difficult times - during acute illness as well as in the following years.
Over time the association has become an important partner to the oncological children's units in Munich and closely cooperates with doctors, the care and psychosocial teams and the "School for ill persons". The aid provided is exclusively funded by donations and the board of directors are working in an honorary capacity.
The aid on offer ranges from immediate financial aid for families that find themselves in an emergency situation due to their child's illness, to paying staff, providing accommodation near the clinics and equipping wards, right through to comprehensive aftercare activities. In addition, the organisation has created a forum for affected people to meet, facilitates dialogues and the exchange of information and experiences. The parents' initiative Krebskranke Kinder München e.V. considers it one of its core duties to promote children's cancer research with periodic subsidies and it also supports different projects (such as music therapy, hospital clowns and "Kleine Riesen" - the "small giant" palliative care project - an indispensable multi-professional assistance for children suffering from cancer in the final stages of their lives and their families).
